"We'll leave the light on for you..."
Part one of a two part series
Remember that radio commercial for Motel 6? This easy going,
folksy, Midwesterner with a little twang says,
"This is Tom Bodett for Motel 6, we'll leave the light on for you."
The concept for this tag line is simple; it makes you feel welcome and secure.
Lighting control is often misunderstood. Why? Because we all have light switches, the most basic level of lighting control! Except our light switches usually just control a few lights wired to a switch or dimmer.
Think about this. When you look around your home from room to room you probably have numerous banks of switches. I'll bet even after living in the house for many years you may still "poke" at the various switches until you find the right one? Right? Then once you find the correct switch you make adjustments with the other switches in that room until you get the light setting you want for that moment. Sound familiar?

FAQ
Q. Can I have a wired and wireless network for my house?
A.
Yes! If you are using mostly desktop computers, one of our standard wiring packages will give you multi-room connectivity and access to shared resources. However, if you have laptops and are interested in Internet access throughout your home, wireless networks give you the ability to move your laptop(s) from room to room while being connected to your network. EDG can configure your home network with the flexibility, security, and ease of use that takes advantage of the best features these networks have to offer, all in one package.
Q. Is it best for me to purchase the equipment for my home theater myself, or is it best to be purchased from my installer?
A. Purchasing the equipment from the installer offers the most benefits to you. The installer can properly assess your needs and make recommendation that fit your budget. The components can then be installed and optimized to their best performance, taking into account grounding issues, ventilation and compatibility. Most installers will also offer a warranty on equipment that is purchased and installed through them.
Q. What are the features and benefits of having a car visor controller for my lighting system?
A.
The feature of the car visor is to simply give you complete control of your lighting system from the safety of your vehicle. It is a very small yet powerful tool that attaches to your visor. The real benefits to you is that you will never have to walk into a dark house again. Selecting the "Home" button from the visor will turn on a predetermined group of lights, typically from the garage to the kitchen or whatever your routine entry path is. There are also two other buttons on the car visor that can be programmed to provide additional convenience and safety features.
