Season's Greetings!
At the end of every year I look back and wonder, "How did the year
go by so fast?" After a few seconds of processing the question,
Busy" seems to be the answer, and the one I hear most often from
colleagues and friends. So before another minute passes I would like

FAQ
Q. What is Digital Television?
A.
Digital TV refers to televisions that can receive and display digital images, offering a sharpness greater than today's television, and digital sound capabilities too. HDTV (High Definition Television) is currently the highest quality digital signal you can receive. Depending on your location, HDTV signals can be delivered through digital cable, digital satellite, or by an over the air antenna that receives digital signals.
Q. As an interior designer I'm in the process of spec-ing window treatments for a very large residence. I would like the shade material to match the upholstery in the room. I'm not satisfied with the selections of material and colors for the motorized shades that are commercially available. Is there a product that will allow me to spec my own fabric?
A. Yes, Lutron offers a service that allows the client to supply their own material (COM). As an interior designer you can supply a three by three section of material. The manufacturer will test the material for operation on their roll shade systems. Once the factory approves the material you can now have roll shades made that match the rest of the interior space.
Q. What are some of the different sub systems that can be controlled via a control system, aside from A/V?
A.
Primarily any low voltage control system can become a part of your integrated home. Some examples would be motorized gates, drapery and shades, cameras, security systems, lights, HVAC and pools and spas. You should be sure that the systems that you are anticipating controlling have the ability to be controlled via a control system.

The Spirit of Giving is Alive and Well at EDG
Piscataway, NJ, December 16, 2004 - In demonstration of its commitment to serving the community, Electronics Design Group, Inc. and its employees have donated a large amount of gifts to the Adopt-A-Family Campaign for Magic 98.3 FM WMGQ benefiting Amandala's Crossing, a local shelter, and 1450 AM WCTC benefiting Ozanam, also a local shelter.
For 10 years EDG has participated in the Adopt-A-Family program, but never before has so much money been raised to purchase so many necessities. "To say that I was surprised by the amount donated would be an understatement. WMGQ & WCTC do a fantastic job organizing this event," said Nick Lehotzky, EDG's Marketing Manager. "I would especially like to thank Tania Bobbi, Ida Collado, and Angie Collado for their time and effort. We hope this makes a difference to those in need at this very special time of year.“

Welcome back to Custom Corner. With each issue we will examine an interesting application of engineered electronics integration with consideration towards aesthetics and design, while limiting any sacrifice to equipment performance.
This month we visit a luxurious estate with an indoor pool house that provides an active destination for the family. The pool house was engineered with integration of pool controls, HVAC, audio, video, and lighting control. Working closely with the architect, builder, interior designer, and tradesmen, Electronics Design Group created this technologically enabled environment with multi-room audio including ten speakers and two subwoofers, a projector with a 100" motorized screen, and an impressive rack of Equipment. Care was given to the layout of the speakers and video screen, as coherent audio (especially dialogue) in this large room is important, as is the ability to view the screen from most anywhere. With good speaker placement, and balanced speaker output, the family enjoys TV and videos from the seating area in front of the screen, or when relaxing in the Jacuzzi.
An application such as this project is a standard for EDG, where we create custom environments that fulfill a client's wishlist. At the same time, we take into consideration the aesthetic value, interior design, and architectural components of a home. Working closely with all trades, Electronics Design Group designs integrated homes that save time, energy and money, while making a home easy to manage. The result is a residence where integrated technology is experienced at it's best.
