Once again
there's lots of great information in Solutions this month. There's an important
message for HDTV satelite service customers in the Service Center section.

 No Tapes, Timers or Worries!
TIVO is one
of the absolute coolest products I can recommend. For my satellite dish clients,
TIVO continues to lead the way with a simple, slick user interface that makes
recording TV shows a breeze. The feedback I get from clients is just amazing!
The latest versions allow recording either two shows simultaneously or recording
one while watching another. The hard drive holds 30 hours of programming.
No tapes to deal with (it records to its built-in hard drive), no complex
menus to understand, no clocks to program. There are many ways to select shows to record, here are a few:
By actor: Yes you can select an actor's name from the keyword list and TIVO will search
your program guide and tell you movies that the actor is in. I found the movie
"Serpico" with Al Pacino on some channel I never watch.
By show: When I couldn't find StarTrek "The Next Generation" on Channel 11 (I know
you're thinking, "Go figure." Well, what can I say? I am a technology guy!),
I did a search by show and found it on TNN. I never watch TNN! I wouldn't
even have thought of looking there - I thought that was country music and
NASCAR. Anyway, I get my dose of 12 weekly episodes of Picard traveling at
Warp 9, dealing with some aliens who want to destroy the Federation.

client came to us after meeting with several companies; they had an addition
in mind (three car garage) with a Media Room above. They were seeking a complete
solutions provider. They came to us because
they
had heard we could provide more than just the electronics. They wanted various
technologies, i.e., Broadband Internet and Console Gaming, HDTV, Theater Size
Screen, motorized shades, and lighting control. BUT MORE…they also wanted
our firm to design the room's lighting effects. We assembled our TEAM: a talented
young architectural interior designer who provided floor plans, millwork details
and color/fabric selection, a hip 40-something artisan who considers himself
more a fine mill worker from days past than a cabinetmaker, and last, a local

Important Message to EDG Clients
Many of our clients with HDTV
satellite service have been getting calls from DirecTV regarding the
addition of a third LNB for their satellite dish. This supplementary
part allows for the reception of high definition broadcast from a third
satellite which presently only carries Showtime, but is scheduled for
additional HD channels in the future. DirecTV offers the LNB for $49.95
installed.
Please remember that the vast majority of DirecTV user's have
very simple installations, while the majority of EDG's clients have
larger, more complicated satellite systems. DirecTV installers have
recently run into problems integrating this new hardware into some of
our clients systems. Based on two recent examples, it has proven to be
more convenient, as well as cost effective for our clients to schedule
EDG to handle the installation of this feature, rather than to call us
in after the DirecTV installer has run into trouble.
