Rediscover Your Music... Digitally

Crestron No, not CD's or Satellite Radio, how about a Digital Music Server. If you're like me you probably own 200 plus CD's and have them stored in a drawer or in your mega CD- Changer. I know when I go to find a CD usually the jewel case is empty! The search then continues to car(s) - under the seats, in the glove box, truck etc. If I do find them in the car they're usually scratched and sometimes skip. If they're not in the car, then they must be at work, or maybe in that nylon CD holder thingy? Does any of this sound familiar? Or How about this........... you have a 5 Disc CD Changer and the same 5 discs have been in the tray for the last 3 months, maybe more?

EDG Project Highlights

SHEER DRAMA!

Media Room From this magnificent surfside hi-rise, you get either breathtaking vistas of the New Jersey seashore or state-of-the-art big screen audio/video entertainment!

On a clear day you can gaze out of the window walls of this high-riding condo and see the New York City skyline. But when the sun goes down, it’s showtime! The owners need only to select the evening’s program on the finger tip touchpanel, then sit back, relax and enjoy the show! With an EDG system, it all happens automagically!

One of the major challenges in designing pleasing home electronics centers is the need to have full access to the audio/video equipment, yet keep it all visually unobtrusive.

Every detail in the design was chosen for maximum aesthetic and sensual impact. So, as the aquarium is enhanced through reflection in the adjacent mirrored wall, the pleasant task of pouring a goblet of fine wine is heightened by the panoramic view of the New Jersey coast seen through the adjoining window. (The client still marvels at how the aquarium was so deftly “engineered” into the cabinet!)  This is truly an extraordinary combination of craftsmanship, technology, engineering and artistry.

FAQ

Q. What is the best way to hook up a PC to a Sony 53" XBR? Is a converter necessary?
A. A Down Converter would be required to get a PC image on a TV. This does effect picture quality and sometimes the image can be off center. If the application is more for fun, internet etc., then it's an OK solution. I would not recommend this solution for serious work.

Q. When should I consider installing an outdoor system?
A. The best way to ensure that your system is ready for springtime is to call the Service Department today to schedule a site survey. This will allow enough time to order equipment and schedule a May installation date. Memorial Day weekend is only 7 weeks away. Wouldn't some tunes for that outdoor barbeque be cool?

Q. What are regional codes for DVD's?
A. A disc manufactured in region 1 will usually only play on players that were manufactured in that same region. The various studios and home video companies lobbied to make sure this coding system was a required part of the current DVD standards, because they wish to control how their DVD titles are exported to other countries. (For example, while a recent film may already have played theatrically in the United States and been released to the home video market, that same film may not yet have opened in some European or Asian countries.)

However, the regional coding system is entirely optional and discs without Regional Codes (Region Free/Region 0/Region All) will play on any player in any country. The map below shows you the regional coding map.

dvd regional code map

Region 1: The U.S., U.S. territories and Canada
Region 2: Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland
Region 3: Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong
Region 4: Mexico, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean
Region 5: Former Russia, Eastern Europe, India, most of Africa, North Korea, Mongolia
Region 6: China
