Problem Solving Tip of the Month

Rebooting your DSS Receiver

Is your picture breaking up, frozen, or not turning on? If you have a DSS receiver simply rebooting your system may be all that is required to fix the problem. Small surges or bad weather may be the culprit. If this is a constant problem, or rebooting fails to solve the problem call the Service Department at 732-650-9800 ext. 110.
  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Pull the card (On the newer models A65 or B65 the card is in the front. The older models A55 or B55 the card is in the back of the unit.)
  3. Wait 1 minute.
  4. Insert the card and plug-in the unit.

FAQ

Q. How many channels are available on HDTV?
A. It all depends on where you live. Living in the NJ-NY area you may receive channels that broadcast from either Philadelphia or New York. The FCC has mandated that all stations be capable of broadcasting HDTV by 2006. Click here to learn which stations are available in your area.

Q. I don't want to spend 10's of thousands of dollars on a home entertainment system and installation? Do you offer any solutions?
A. The EDG Service Department is focused on servicing and upgrading systems. If any of the following scenarios match your current situation give the Service Department a call.
  • I've purchased a plasma TV, but I need a professional to hang it.
  • I recently had a home theater system installed by another company, but the components just don't seem to be working in sync.
  • EDG recently finished installing a whole house integration, but I would now like to add/upgrade a piece of equipment to the system.
  • My TV needs to be calibrated or my audio system needs to be tweaked.

Q. When should I consider installing an outdoor system?
A. The best way to ensure that your system is ready for springtime is to call the Service Department in February to schedule a site survey. This allows enough time to order equipment and schedule a May installation date. Memorial Day weekend is only 4 months away. Wouldn't some tunes for that outdoor barbeque be cool?
