Careers: Marketing Assistant
Assist the Marketing Manager in planning, developing and implementing marketing campaigns for EDG in one or more specialty areas such as, but not limited to, advertising, direct mail, mass e-mail, web site, seminars, publicity, market research and more, Following is a partial list of the scope of effort of this position:
Responsibilities include:
Plan, develop and implement marketing strategies to generate sales leads.
Coordinate the design and reservation of advertising space.
Implement direct mail programs for new prospect lists (approximately 800 - 1000 pcs. Per month) and quarterly mailings to trade colleagues (approximately 2500 - 4000 pcs.) Monitor database maintenance for accuracy and completeness of information.
Coordinate the design and development of pamphlets, letters, flyers, posters and related publicity items for distribution; maintain liaison with printers and mail houses to ensure timely preparation of various collaterals
Coordinate annual project awards submissions.
Coordinate Department fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
Maintain an ongoing list of projects that will be ready to photograph. Coordinate with the photographer and client.
Develop plans for trade Seminars including topic, agenda and all collaterals; research trade show opportunities
Coordinate and maintain EDG Sales and Technical Libraries, both physical and online.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training
Work requires articulate communication ability, analytical thought processes and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in Marketing. Impeccable written and verbal language arts skills are imperative; creative arts skills a plus.
Functional Skills
Requires intermediate to advanced level skill in the following computer programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as internet/e-mail plus basic database functional knowledge (i.e., ACT, Access, or any similar transferable skill). Keyboarding at a minimum of 50 wpm. Functional knowledge of administrative tasks such as phones, filing, standard office equipment operation (i.e., fax, copier, printer, etc.) and supplies replenishment.
