Electronics Design Group Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Piscataway, NJ—August 1, 2007- Electronics Design Group, Inc., one of the nation’s leading companies who provide turnkey solutions for discriminating homeowners and corporations seeking top-notch electronic systems, will mark its 20th anniversary in August. Since 1987, when systems integration was still in its infancy, EDG has managed to service more than 1,100 satisfied clients, win more national awards than any other firm in their industry, and receive editorial recognition from leading media outlets like CE Pro Magazine, The Robb Report, The Star Ledger, and MSNBC.
Founded in 1987 by Bob Gullo, EDG landed its first big break in 1989 when an electrical contractor from a commercial project approached him with a $180,000 audio job for a 10,000 square foot home. This was the make or break opportunity that would help build the foundation of today’s company that boasts over 50 employees, a fleet of 24 vans, a 22,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, and sales of $14M in 2006.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years. I knew I wanted to do this from the time I was in college, but I could never have imagined the types of projects we’re doing today,” states EDG president Bob Gullo. “I’m very proud of our accomplishments, and thankful for all the support we’ve received from our clients, vendors, partners, and most of all the dedication of a great staff that shares in our vision of being the best. Design Group became the first dealer to be recognized by the two leading
dealer organizations serving the custom electronic industry. EDG was awarded both the 2004 Dealer of the Year Award from the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and the 2005 Mark of Excellence Award for Dealer of the Year from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). EDG was recognized not just for an installation or project, but overall operation of the business.
EDG has also won 14 Electronic Lifestyles™ awards from CEDIA, 2 Crestron
Integration awards, 2 Lutron Excellence Awards, 1 CEA Mark of Excellence Award, and Top 10 rankings in CE Pro magazines Top 100 list since 1997. In addition Dealer Scope Magazine awarded Gullo a spot on their 40-under-40 list in 2004 stating, “EDG is in practice what a lot of aspiring integrators would like to grow up to be.”
