New Jersey Firm Completes the Hat Trick with Three Electronic Lifestyle™ Awards and a Record 8 Awards Overall
Indianapolis, In – September 06, 2003–
Electronics Design Group (EDG), a leader in the custom electronics design and installation industry, was the winner of three Electronic Lifestyle™ Awards for Best Home Theater Level V ($200,000 - $400,000), Best Media Room, and Best Hidden Installation at this years annual CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) EXPO in Indianapolis, Indiana, Saturday September 6 during a banquet of industry peers at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
As the only NJ firm to win multiple awards in the 14-year history of CEDIA, EDG also firmly positions itself as a dominant player in the industry with a record 8 such awards overall. “It's an honor to be recognized nationally for our work, but winning three awards in one night............WOW, I'm speechless! The commitment our team has to EDG and its clients who select us as their solutions provider, is truly outstanding. I am so proud of everyone for their relentless hard work,” exclaimed Bob Gullo, President of EDG.
He adds, “Each was a signature EDG projects, with every detail carefully planned. Many companies can select and install equipment; what makes our projects unique are the absolute detail and depth we go into. We use the latest CAD technology for precise placement of seating, sightlines, and speaker placement. We coordinate every detail and task with the interior designers, architects, general contractors and electricians.”
Electronic Lifestyle™ Awards are the most prestigious form of recognition in the custom electronics industry. These highly sought after awards are presented each year to recognize excellence in the custom electronics industry. “From the systems designed to satisfy the client on a budget to the no-holds-barred, money-no-object projects, this year’s entries are an incredible representation of the fine work being done by our industry,” said Chris Kangis, CEDIA 2003 Awards Committee Chair.
Best Home Theater Level V ($200,000 - $400,000)
The award winning custom designed home theater has room dimension of 26' wide x 34' long with 9' ceilings and is able to seat 22 people; 16 luxurious theater seats, with 6 bar stools along a granite counter behind the third row. The free-floating platform was a unique design which allows all viewers to comfortably enjoy the show with unobstructed site lines. An acoustical wall absorption system was integrated into the millwork to improve the room acoustics.
Best Media Room
The award winning media room was designed to handle dancing, karaoke, games, cocktails, and movies. This media area is equipped with three monitors. Two smaller 32" models flank an 8-foot wide 16:9 Stewart Luxas wall mount. Motorized curtains were specified to add some color and drama to the cabinet wall, but another purpose was found, side masking. Easily controlled with one button using the AMX the client can achieve a 4:3 version by adjusting the curtain to different limits.
Best Hidden Installation
The award winning hidden installation required getting involved in the architectural planning stage. Initially this room was designed with a small crawl space below the floor. By suggesting increasing the space to accommodate 4', a 50" Plasma TV could be raised to a comfortable viewing height and conceal the center channel in the base. With the help of Electrokinetics a "double" lift system was designed for this project. Clean lines, no clutter and NO visible Electronics!
