NEW JERSEY COMPANY IS RECORD-SETTING FIVE-TIME WINNER of the CEDIA ELECTRONIC LIFESTYLEST AWARD
Minneapolis, MN – September 28, 2002–
In front of a standing room only crowd at the Minneapolis Hilton, Electronics Design Group, Inc. rocketed solidly into the CEDIA record books with yet another Electronic LifestylesT Award; this time for "BEST HOME THEATER" at this year's Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) annual industry conference. This gives EDG a lifetime total of five such national awards for theaters and media rooms, more than any other custom installation firm in the twelve-year history of this highly respected organization. "My partner, Ed Condiracci and I are extremely proud of our accomplishments. The fact that we have won such a prestigious award five times is truly a reflection of the dedication and commitment our team has to EDG and its clients who select us as their solutions provider," said Bob Gullo, EDG President. "I especially want to thank Joe McNeill for his total commitment and outstanding leadership on this project."
This year's winning project is a custom-designed private theater reminiscent of the gold and glory days of the legendary movie palaces of old! A signature EDG project, every detail was carefully planned. "Many companies can select and install equipment; what makes our projects unique is the absolute detail and depth we go into. We use the latest CAD technology for precise placement of seating, sightlines, and speaker placement. We coordinate every detail and task with the interior designer, general contractor and electrician. We calibrate our systems using over $10,000 of the latest gear from Sencore for precise color accuracy and sound quality. But we don't stop there. We tweak and fine tune the system by listening and viewing various program material." said Bob Gullo. EDG also collaborated with Acoustic Smart of Merrick, NY, to provide sophisticated acoustical panels, so that the Genelec Active Loudspeakers deliver stellar sound in this acoustically perfect theater. "We even had a representative of Genelec meet us on site to assist us in receiving every bit of performance out of this system once the acoustical panels were installed."
The video quality is equally spectacular in the eight-seat theater featuring a Sony Projector and Stewart 110" diagonal eight foot wide screen, luxurious reclining seats, lighting and curtain control. The back level accommodates the bar counter and three comfortable swivel stools. Joe McNeill added, "Of course, it's no fun if you need a degree in rocket science to use the theater, so we integrated an AMX Control system to operate every function by simply touching menu items and icons on the wireless color panel."
